Retired Members' Division
The AMWU NSW/ACT branch is proud to have a large and active Retired Members’ Division (RMD). The RMD advocates for the rights of seniors and is a great way for retired manufacturing workers to stay in touch with their workmates and the union.
The RMD elects representatives to the National Conference, National Council and State Council, and has direct input into the policy, direction and activities of the union. Retired members also continue to receive a number of AMWU services including access to the Helpdesk, free phone counselling through AMWU Care, as well as legal consultation.
Membership is only $5 a year. Meetings are held at 10:30am on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at Level 1 of the AMWU building at 126 Chalmers St, Surry Hills.

NSW & ACT RMD Secretary Paul McDonald worked as a Senior Technical Officer at the Garden Island Dockyard for 38 years and retired in 2008. He's been a union delegate for the PREI, the CPSU and the AMWU. He was elected Secretary of the NSW & ACT Retired Members' Division in 2016.
