The AMWU is fighting back against EXPLOITOPIA. We want an iron ore industry where workers have a real say over their jobs and their lives.

We've been surveying workers across the Pilbara and the issues that come up most are:

  • maintenance enterprise agreements for maintenance workers - because tradespeople should fight for their own conditions,
  • better onsite accommodation and food,
  • clear career progression and role classification structures,
  • annualised wage increases enshrined in an agreement - not whatever your supervisor thinks you deserve year to year,
  • workers having a say in roster change decisions - because you should have the first say over your family life and time with friends, not your boss, and
  • a bonus system measured against sit specific criteria rather than global metrics - because if you are making more money for a company in WA, you should be judged on that and not what happens in Brazil or Africa.

If you're ready to fight to make these changes to your industry, join the AMWU

If you're not sure yet, sign up below to keep up to date with the EXPLOITOPIA campaign and how your work mates are fighting to make the iron ore industry better.
