Manufacturing Jobs For Australia

AMWU members have long fought for secure, union manufacturing jobs in Australia. We know strong local industries, both established and emerging, are key to a resilient economy, bringing back jobs and strengthening communities.

Over the past three years, AMWU members have pushed the Labor government to raise its ambitions, securing workplace rights that have improved conditions nationwide. In 2024, after years of relentless campaigning, the government announced ‘A Future Made in Australia’. The biggest industry and economic policy shift of our lifetimes, backed by major investment. A historic win for AMWU members!

But the fight isn’t over. Promises alone won’t build the industries of the future or create secure, well-paid jobs. This election, AMWU members are demanding real action: stronger local supply chains, targeted investment in skills, and secure manufacturing jobs where they’re needed most.  This is our chance to shape a future where workers share in the nation’s prosperity, and AMWU members won’t stop until it’s reality.

Join more than 60,000 AMWU members in the fight for Manufacturing Jobs for Australia. Together, we’re building a stronger, fairer future.
