In Collie, we know that the power balance in workplaces has been slipping further and further to the side of the bosses. Griffin Coal workers are in their fifth week of industrial action, and have had their agreement cancelled, slashing wages. Decision after decision in the Commission falls the way of employers, and the Liberal government continues to introduce legislation to restrict union rights.
But we can stand up, and fight back.
We are building a movement to change the rules to bring fairness back to Australia. ACTU Secretary Sally McManus is coming to Collie next week to address workers and community members about the unfair Fair Work Act system and what needs to be done to redress the balance and save the future for all of us.
