$1 Billion Rail Manufacturing Pipeline for Maryborough

Working together with the Palaszczuk Government we’ve delivered a $1 billion pipeline of work for Maryborough.
Under Campbell Newman, our trains were manufactured in India. The Palaszczuk Government brought them home, with the repair and refit of these non-compliant foreign trains being done in Queensland.
Today the Palaszczuk Government announced an expanded manufacturing footprint in Maryborough, with a $1 billion pipeline of future work, including trains for Cross River Rail.
AMWU members at Downer EDI in Maryborough are skilled, respected and acknowledged as some of the best train manufacturers in Australia. This announcement secures their skills, jobs and future in rail manufacturing.
