MEDIA RELEASE: AMWU Represents Members at Fire Rescue Victoria in Commission Negotiations Amid FRV Dirty Tactics

Today, the Australian Manufacturing Workers' Union (AMWU) represented its members at Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) in the Commission. FRV sought the assistance of the Commissioner to facilitate negotiations, informing us that the government would also be in attendance.

In a concerning turn of events, late last night, FRV submitted a request for a Section 424 order aimed at removing protected industrial action. This move is viewed as a deceptive and dirty tactic employed by a Victorian government agency.

The AMWU is committed to defending our members' rights to take industrial action and will file applications against the Victorian government agency, asserting that it is not engaging in good faith bargaining.

We stand firm in our commitment to advocate for the rights and interests of our members and ensure a fair and just negotiation process.
