International Women's Day is a day for union women to come together to share their learning and ideas to build our capacity to create a better world for women.
AMWU women are invited to a special IWD Conference & Training day as part of the Women's Rights at Work (WRAW) Festival. The Conference will focus on two important objectives for women:
- Ending gender violence at work; and
- Reducing the gender pay gap
This Conference is designed to educate women in how they can work together in their workplace to end gender violence at work and improve Gender Equality outcomes.

9am: Registrations open
9.30am-12.30pm: Lift the silence on gender violence
This workshop will explore gender violence in the workplace and arm you with the tools and strategies to eliminate gender violence in the workplace.
12.30pm-1.30pm: Lunch (provided)
1.30pm-4.30pm: A map to climb out of the gender pay gap
A step-by-step guide to identifying and dismantling the gender pay gap in your workplace.
5pm: Drinks and nibbles at the AMWU before we march together to the International Women's Day Rally for 5.30pm start! All AMWU members, men and women are invited to the rally.
