Sign the petition to stop job losses at German Creek

On 3 September 2015, the German Creek, Lake Lindsay Mine announced that 85 positions would be made redundant.

Some will be labour hire workers, some will be coal technicians, some will be coal operators, but all will be real workers with real families and a valuable contribution to make to our community.

Like Blackwater, this will have a serious effect on the local community and workforce.

There must be more done to protect local employment and the communities those jobs support. That's why we are campaigning with local members and community businesses to highlight the impacts on the local community and stop these changes.

This announcement also means that workers will now be on a 5 day roster with 8.5 hour shifts and living in camp. This will have a serious effect on the health and well being of members and their families.

We will fight back against these cruel changes, but we need your help.
