AMWU for Yes

In 2023, Australia will vote on whether to amend our Constitution to recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people by establishing a Voice to Parliament.

AMWU members know the importance of having a seat at the table and being consulted on issues that directly impact our lives and work.

That's what the Voice to Parliament is: a practical way for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to have a say on issues and policies that impact their lives.

And that's why the AMWU is proudly backing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander members, families, friends and communities in this historic campaign.

We're answering the call of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who have asked for recognition in the form of a Voice to Parliament.

Because, as unionists, we believe that all workers and people deserve to be consulted on the changes that affect us and that speaking up collectively can make change that benefits us all.
