The AMWU QLD NT state council were honoured to have AMWU VictoriaDelegate Troy Carter with us today from the Esso/UGL Longford Dispute.
Troy and his fellow workmates have been on the picket for over 428 days after they were sacked and offered their jobs back with 30% pay cuts and a cruel anti-family roster.
It hasn’t been easy. They’ve come together to keep a 24/7 protest running through temperatures of -6 degrees Celsius in winter right through to the hot summer. They are protesting because they are ready to work on fair pay and fair rosters.
The AMWU QLD/NT branch and the AMWU Goonyella Riverside branch are proud to donate $5000 each to the workers of the Esso/UGL Longford Dispute.
We are so proud of their tireless dedication to to the cause and to ensure good conditions and wages for future generations.
You can help these worker too by visiting www.amwu.org.au/supportessoworkers and making a donation and sending UGL an email. We need to keep the pressure up.
