Plan for WA Jobs

Western Australians need a Plan for WA Jobs!

Plan for WA Jobs is a community campaign that is seeking the development and implementation of a plan to drive economic and employment growth in Western Australia.

As the resources construction boom slows down, Western Australia will need to make the most of the opportunities we have in mining as well as develop other industries to create jobs for the future.

A Plan for WA Jobs needs to ensure that we have competitively priced energy to drive manufacturing growth, and that we have the skilled local workers that industry will need into the future. It will need to make the most of the opportunities we have now, and create new opportunities for the future.

Colin Barnett shrugged his shoulders as most of the work for projects started under his government has headed offshore. He has also stood idly by, while big companies have brought in overseas workers, despite there being plenty of trained and experienced workers in Australia.

Now that Western Australia has a new Labor government, we must keep pressure up to ensure that major projects employ local people, provide training and education for the next generation, and contribute meaningfully to our vibrant community.

Keep an eye out for our announcements and campaign activities that you can get involved in.
