Norske Skog Tragedy

In late May, a tragedy occurred at the Norske Skog paper mill in Ettamogah near Albury on the NSW-Victorian border.

During a routine maintenance shutdown 3 workers were exposed to toxic gas with 2 dying and one still critical. Many other workers were taken to hospital with symptoms of mild exposure.

Counselling and support is being offered to all union members. Any member and their family, whether you have been directly affected or not, is able to reach out to AMWU Care (24-7) on 1800 206 316. There is in-person counselling and support for Norske Skog workers and their families.

If you would like to leave a small donation for the families you can do so below.

Please note - if you do not immediately receive confirmation of your payment it may not have processed. We are working on fixing this but you can donate immediately here: www.gofundme.com/support-norske-skog
