The AMWU National Secretary, Dave Oliver, is the chief representative for AMWU members at the national level, and is elected by the AMWU's members.
Dave has over 20 years experience representing working families with the AMWU, and was elected as National Secretary in June 2007.
"Our number one concern is to help working people make a decent living and secure a future for their families.
Today, manufacturing workers face issues at the local, state, national and global level - from health and safety issues in the workplace, to the decisions of multi-national companies in headquarters located all over the world.
The AMWU, through regular consultation with our members, and our membership of international trade union organisations is Australia's biggest and best union for manufacturing workers.
Everyone at the AMWU is committed to doing their best to secure a manufacturing industry in Australia that provides secure, skilled jobs with good pay and decent employment conditions."
