Industrial Relations - Part Time Helpdesk Officer

The AMWU has a part time position available for someone interested in getting involved in the union movement.

The position involves making outbound calls to members in relation to some of the following:

o    Conducting surveys with members on the current industrial climate and specific to their workplace
o    Following up on member dues that have fallen a little behind.
o    General outbound campaigns as per needs of the AMWU.
o    Using AMWU Databases and Intranet Information resources.

The position works closely with National & State Offices of the AMWU, & requires well developed oral & written communication skills.  

Hours of Work
4pm to 8pm Monday to Thursday - minimum availability 3 days per week

Selection Criteria
We require a person with the following skills:

•    High level customer service & outbound call ability
•    Confident approach to interacting with members
•    High level telephone communication skills
•    Team based skills
•    Strong analytical skills
•    Positive attitude under pressure
•    Quick and accurate keyboard skills
•     High level skills in Microsoft Word, Excel & Internet Explorer
•    Strong interest in Industrial Relations

Tertiary qualifications, or study toward a qualification, in Industrial Relations, Social Sciences or Economics and / or equivalent experience is desirable.
