The AMWU's Manufacturing Industry Skills Training and Assessment Services (MISTAS) provides joint training courses in the area of vocational education and training, competency standards implementation and assessment.

The establishment of MISTAS is a direct result of the AMWU's recognition of Australian industry's need for a dynamic workforce who acquire recognised, portable skills which in turn provide access to higher wages and improved job security.

Our expertise in vocational education and training puts the AMWU at the forefront of the implementation of career path progression and enterprise training plans. Our aim is to support Nationally Accredited Training that allows portability of skills, high wage/high skill jobs, which contribute to Australia's prosperity by making us a leading manufacturing nation.

MISTAS provides an innovative link between AMWU members, TAFE and industry to provide streamlined and hassle-free access to the training you want.
