Sydney Buses Update

In the last two weeks we have visited all of the depots in the Metro Sydney area. There has been universal anger at the government's decision, and we are resolved to fight it.

Make sure you share the Facebook page with your friends and family so they can show their opposition to privatisation. The Facebook page is available here.

We made a few short videos of members for the campaign's Facebook page, you can watch them here.

We have already got back some completed petitions for a parliamentary debate. We need 10 000 to force parliament to debate the privatisation, so if you haven't got a petition sheet yet you can download one here.

We are arranging with the RTBU to have these petitions picked up next week - so please bring them into work and give them to your delegate.

Unions NSW is arranging a town hall meeting of unions and community groups to discuss the campaign against privatisation on June 28 at the Pitt Street Uniting Church. We will be organising a mass meeting of Sydney Buses maintenance staff to coincide with this event - we will be confirming the time and place soon.

Another date to keep in mind: there will be a July 3 Day of Action to sign up inner-West commuters to the campaign. We will have more information closer to the date.

Finally, many people still have questions about the privatisation and what it will mean for them and their families. You can contact your organiser Ian Sherwood with any questions at or on +61 418 637 769.
