AMWU members at a laboratory in Melbourne need your support.
In November AMWU News reported that members from food testing company Omic were standing their ground in negotiations over a union collective agreement.
Omic have since met with the AMWU at the bargaining table only to walk away from negotiations, refusing to meet any of the union’s key claims.
Omic’s management are also refusing to agree to any wage increases in the agreement.
This week members will continue to fight for recognition of their important claims by undertaking one hour stoppages and overtime bans.
Support Omic members in their fight and show your solidarity by sending this email to the company’s management.

Subject: OMIC WORKERS DESERVE A FAIR DEAL
Dear Mr Shinoda,
I am aware that OMIC Australia Pty Ltd is engaged in enterprise agreement negotiations with its workers in North Melbourne but that OMIC are refusing to meet any of the key claims of its employees and have said that whilst employees maintain a claim for guaranteed annual wage increases under the agreement that "there is nothing more to talk about".
This treatment of your Australian workforce is unacceptable and OMIC should be embarrassed by its behaviour.
Enterprise Agreements which provide for guaranteed annual wage increases and terms and conditions which are above the bare minimum under the Award system are commonplace in Australia. Why should OMIC employees be denied the benefits of a fair and reasonable enterprise agreement? Doesn't OMIC value its employees as much as other employers?
I understand that OMIC employees feel they have no other recourse than to take industrial action in support of their claims. I support them in this action and call upon OMIC to return to the negotiating table in good faith to negotiate an enterprise agreement that incorporates relevant awards, addresses employee's key claims and provides fair wage outcomes for all concerned.
Yours Sincerely,
