Medical Appointments - know your rights

What would you do if your employer wanted to attend your medical appointment?

You should be aware that there is no reason for anyone to attend your medical appointments, other than someone of your choosing.

Only for return to work arrangements, is it acceptable for your employer to speak with your doctor about suitable work.

You need to be present during any conversations between your treating doctor and the supervisor or RTW/rehabilitation provider. You may also wish to take a union delegate/ HSR or friend/family member with you.

If you are unsure about your rights around medical appointments please call the AMWU Helpdesk 1300 732 698

Download the poster for your work noticeboard by clicking here and make sure everyone knows their rights when it comes to medical appointments.
