Union Statement To Thales Employees

In a globalised economy, companies like Thales need to out -pace  their competition in order to stay ahead. Economic success is not possible without a supportive and committed workforce.

Thales and the unions recognise this and have recently concluded a  constructive relationship agreement. Never before has there been such a strong commitment from Thales’ management to engage in a robust  and positive relationship with unions.

Thales and the unions have agreed to work towards a national collective agreement, negotiation of which will provide an opportunity to promote values such as transparency, fairness and equality at work. That agreement should provide certainty in terms and conditions of employment whilst allowing workers the flexibility to balance their working and non-working lives. It should also enable everyone to achieve their potential, regardless of their business unit or location.

The unions are committed to giving workers like you and your colleagues a voice.

Our unions are democratic organisations. We reflect the diversity of views and experiences in modern workplaces. Representing over 170,000 in engineering and science within the public and private sectors, we are strategically placed to advance:

•    the individual and collective interests of you and your colleagues; and
•    your professions and vocations.

Between us, we have negotiated thousands of collective agreements.  We have done so in close liaison with our members.

Our internal structures aim to build a healthy and representative union so as to voice the issues our members decide are important.

•    It is our aim that no voice will go unheard.
•    It is our aim that our members’ aspirations will not be overlooked.
•    It is our aim that each member can advance their rights at work

We invite you to engage with us in this national collective agreement process. Our members’ contributions will influence how all workers’ conditions are set. So join us in:

•    securing the best possible deal;
•    promoting  equal treatment when it comes to pay and conditions at work;
•    advancing job and career satisfaction;
•    Improving job security;
•    consolidating good practices and sharing the benefits more widely.

Talk to your union representative today to find out how you can get involved.
