People working in manufacturing understand the industry better than anyone. You live and breathe this industry every day.

That’s why your union has made a submission to the Queensland Government focussed on ensuring that the Roadmap emphasises good jobs with decent conditions in the new world of Queensland advanced manufacturing.

The recommendations put forward in our submission include:

  • Fair wages and conditions to match highly-skilled work
  • The implementation of manufacturing hubs throughout Queensland to support rural and regional workers
  • Support for existing local industry transitioning into advanced forms of manufacturing.

We would love to know what you think about the advanced manufacturing roadmap. To read the Queensland Government’s discussion paper click here and to read the AMWU’s submission click here.
